Dear virgin active, It is with regret that I will need to cancel my gym membership with you, effective as of now. It is my understanding that you have closed many clubs around the uk that I used and will have needed to use later this year. When I joined Virgin, I joined a club that covered the length and breadth of the U.K and even the world. It is now no longer viable for me to keep a membership that doesn't guarantee full uk usage. At first, I was devastated, I had dedicated almost 5 years to the clubs, I thought of all the things that made VA great, so I'll start with the good things, the things I'll miss 1. VA Mayfair - instructors such as Shiv (Friday morn pump) and Roo (tues eve pump) are the most motivating individuals ever. I'll miss their energy and enthusiasm. Member care - Comfort - she is such a wonderful person and cheers you up every morning 2. VA High Street Kensington - Jax (thurs eve body pump), member care girls again such as Rebekah are amazing women. 3. Towel service/ toiletries/ straighteners - I'll definitely miss this but I'm sure I can take my own straighteners to a gym 4. VA Kensington's very own Ryan - he was a hottie Now I'll tell you the bad bits and thinking about it they outweigh the good bits 1. Personal training - it's all about the hard sell, they want you to buy and buy as if £100 per month on membership wasn't enough! I once purchased an 8 pack and I wasn't impressed, wish I had spent that £500 on a pair of Louboutins! Don't bother with VAs expensive training sessions. I'd suggest going to a grimy gym and paying a muscle man a fraction of the price to get you ripped. They also think they own the floor and will hover around any equipment you are using to get you off it #gymtimidated 2. Busy - your gyms are well and truly over subscribed, yes, I'm talking about your precious classic club gyms! Kensington always rammed as is Mayfair. Try going to any of London City gyms too 3. Wallbrook- apparently as a classic member it didn't entitle me to use all the facilities at wallbrook, such as the altitude classes despite the fact the cycle one was half empty. When I looked around this super snazzy gym, I realised people paying the same money in other classic gyms were not getting the Wallbrook Standard. 4. Prices - they just keep on rising and service keeps on going down 5. Equipment - they may be at the forefront of introducing the latest Armenian twizzler to get your traps looking nice but they can't throw in another squat rack or smith machine as typically some giant douche has been on it for the last 3 hours and still has another 40 sets to go. So here's why I'm happy to leave and join PureGym 1. My friend quit your corporate machine months ago when he realised that VA Mayfair was a dingy dungeon. You know what he spends his extra £70 per month? He puts it towards Gucci shoes and he looks damn fine and I'll be gyming with him 2. Price - for multi access, I'll pay £40. I'll put the other £50 towards my savings or a full tank of petrol 3. Opening hours - 24 hour in most cases, that means virtual body pump at 5am. Yes! Get with the programme virgin 4. Equipment - they have squat racks, smith machines and all the hula hoops I could want. 5. No fancy toiletries or changing stations - VA Mayfair was full of some women who were only there to take selfies and pose in front of mirrors 6. Classes - there's loads of them at all hours of the day. So every cloud has a silver lining, in my case my bank balance is going to grow by £600 a year. By selling off gyms to focus on your collection (which aren't all that great), you've given old members the big two fingers, it's all about VA, so that's why I hope you've lost a lot of custom, a lot of loyal members who like myself will give your brand bad reviews and bad publicity. After 5 years of going to the same places, with the same faces, it's a major upheaval but I'll get over it and forget you guys, never to rejoin the VA machine ever again. Smell you later virgin active, noticed served With love Sazza

Hi, I am a regular of the anti gravity yoga classes in Mayfair. Unfortunately it is time to turn to Facebook with my complaints. Hygiene: I have several times over the past year or longer complained about the awful hygiene of the yoga mats and the hammocks: they stink! I have turned to bringing my own mat which should not be necessary regarding your fees! I get no reaction whatsoever and the stink just gets worse. People should also not wear sleeveless tops! Even teachers wear them sometimes! Can I get action on this matter, I have seen others also use towels and bring their own mats btw.
